Hiking near Hokitika Gorge

 My family and l went to the Hokitika Gorge on the weekend. My favourite part about the gorge was he swing bridge because we could see the water in a better view and it was so beautiful and blue. After the bridge, we saw a dark and spooky walkway. I was a bit lazy to go in there. My dad said, ‘let's go and see what's up there’. It was very muddy because it had been raining for a few days. The worst part is l forgot to put my gumboots on so my shoes got wet and muddy. I asked my mom and dad if we could go back because my feet were cold and my shoes were covered in mud. Dad said, “it’s alright, we can wash them later when we get back home.'' l shouted, “please”! They ignored me. After walking for a bit we saw a small waterfall it was so beautiful because the water was clear and it made a tiny pond. It would have been cool if there had been fish in the tiny pond. After walking for a long time we saw a small stream. Dad asked us did we want a drink because he thought the stream might be good; we all drank from the stream. The water was so cold l couldn't drink much because the water was so cold it because it hurt my throat . We thought we could cross the river after walking for a long time. Finally we got to the end but guess what we didn’t cross the river because there was a massive rock blocking way. Then we went to our car and went back home then we all washed our shoes watched a movie. My mom told us that she thought that this had been our best weekend ever
